A Flash-based editor named Potlatch is available. It is most useful for editing existing data or adding points of interest. A more complex Java-based editor editor called Josm is probably the most widely used OpenStreetMap editor. Merkaartor is a Qt editor. Current versions of Quantum GIS has have support for OSM data.
== Renderers ==
The most popular rendering software is Mapnik. For desktop or personal purposes, Quantum GIS may be the easiest renderer to use. Glosm provides an interactive 3D rendering, while osm2pov renders an isometric, Sim City-looking map.

=Road Centerline Data=
As of May 15, 2010, all road centerline data has been imported. If you notice any problems with the import (primarily missing streets or unconnected ways), please let [[User:Mutantmonkey|mutantmonkey]] know and he'll fix it. The Road Centerline data from the Town of Blacksburg's GIS page has been imported into an [http://dl.dropbox.com/u/125761/bbg_roads.osm OSM changeset file], which can be loaded into editors like JOSM. If you want to import or fix a road, feel free to make use of it. It would be nice to replace the TIGER data with this data, but for now, it's much easier to just import roads one by one.
