The '''EL Migration Project''' is a 1 year project which will involve upgrading our infrastructure, which is entirely [[Debian]], to [[Enterprise Linux]]. VTLUUG has had issues with Debian, including terrible defaults, upgrading packages overwrites configuration file without warning or means to intervene, inconsistency among packages, and init script issues. EL is a enterprise ready linux distribution that actually has a major company, RedHat, backing it. It doesn't have these problems.

EL is a enterprise ready linux distribution that actually has a major company, RedHat, backing it. It doesn't have these problems.
