Minecraft is a block game beloved by many. It is neither open-source nor libre, but due to the easily-decompiled nature of java bytecode (and leaked debug symbols), its community treats it as if it were source-available.

VTLUUG hosts a minecraft server.

= VTLUUGsmp =
VTLUUGsmp is a Minecraft server hosted by VTLUUG at minecraft.vtluug.org. It was formerly whitelist-only, but is now password protected, ask on the IRC for the password.

== Rules ==
1. No hacked clients (shit like optifine & sodium is fine) 
2. No griefing people you aren't at war with 
3. If you want to start a war with someone, everyone in every group involved has to agree to start a war. 
4. When you want to stop a war, every group involved has to be in favor of it. If your enemy surrenders, you have to negotiate on terms of surrender together and both agree on
them. Violating terms of surrender is grounds to start a second war. 
5. No lag machines or shit that bans other players, shit like that 
6. No doxxing 
7. No stealing from people you aren't at war with 
8. No windows apologists

Propaganda is any material (usually a printed flyer) created by a member of the VTLUUG to raise awareness about matters that are important, mainly spreading the use of linux/unix and other free software.

==Creating good propaganda==

Good propaganda should catch your eye, use vibrant colors and solid imagery. If you're making a flyer, then it's going to be next to around 20 others
on a billboard; make it impossible to ignore amongst the sea of other flyers.

The second aspect of good propaganda is to get it to stick in peoples heads, the easiest (therefore best) way to do this is by being funny; however catching people off guard also works really well. Disguise your flyer as something else, only reveal the fact that it's trying to get you to switch to linux at the end.

Emacs is a text editor originally developed by Richard Stallman in 1984. Emacs is coded in it's own Lisp dialect (known as Emacs lisp). While it used to be very popular, it has dwindled in popularity as of late; with [[Vim]] being a more common text editor as of late. It has been recommended by several vtluug members, with the rest recommending [[Vim]]. It has been criticized for doing too much, due to it having a built in calendar, calculator, e-mail client, and several games.
