'''#vtluug''' on
irc.oftc.net
is the [[Linux and Unix Users Group|LUUG]] [[Internet Relay Chat|IRC]] channel. Beginning in 2008, some folks began to idle on
irc.freenode.net
in
#vtluug
. In fall 2009, there were generally a dozen LUUG members, alumni and associates on at any given time.

On February 28, 2012, the approximately 30 members in the channel made the decision to migrate to
irc.oftc.net
due to persistent stability issues with Freenode and some issues that some members had with the staff.

If you have a question, please stick around for a while after asking it; just because no one can help you now does not mean that no one will be able to help you later.

==Rules==
* Use common sense and treat others as you wish to be treated; all racist slurs, sexist remarks, and name calling are prohibited.
* #vtluug is for newcomers and experts alike. Please be helpful and friendly to everyone or don't say anything at all.
* Do not change your nick to indicate that you are away.
* Do not flood the channel; if your message is more than ~3 lines when posting logs or code, please use a pastebin such as [http://linxb.in linxb.in].
* In the unlikely event that you are banned, do not attempt to evade your ban. Ban evasion will be dealt with strictly and will result in extension of your ban.

==PieSpy==
[http://www.jibble.org/piespy/ PieSpy] is a bot that infers social connections in IRC channels. It regularly produces a graph of how it interprets the #vtluug social network. The lastest version is always available [http://vtluug.org/files/2012/piespy/vtluug/vtluug-current.png here]. You can also see the historical progression of the social network by checking out the different versions of the graph available [http://vtluug.org/files/2012/piespy/vtluug/ here]. Additionally, an animation of recent changes of the graph can be found [http://vtluug.org/files/2012/piespy/vtluug/animated.gif here].
